MANSFIELD, PA— Thomas A. Brown, Pennsylvania Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) State Commander, will be the guest speaker at the Mansfield University Veterans Appreciation Luncheon to be held on Thursday, November 10, 11:30 a.m. in North Manser Hall.
A member of VFW Post 928, Brown earned his VFW eligibility through service in the US Navy and Navy Reserve from 1950-56 and 1957-67 with the Sixth and Seventh Fleets. His foreign service included spending time in Cuba and Germany.
Brown has held many VFW positions and has earned many honors at the post, district, state and national levels including being chosen as a National VFW Aide-de-Camp for five years, and a committee member on several national VFW work groups. He has extensive experience working with VFW programs for Buddy Poppies, Membership, Citizenship and Loyalty Day.
All MU students, faculty and staff who are Veterans, Reserves or Active Duty Military have been invited to the luncheon.

After the luncheon, a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Student Veterans of America (SVA) Military Resource Center will be held in Alumni Hall, Room 138.
